MESSAGE ON THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF ECONOMISTS I am pleased to offer my warm congratulations on the 25th anniversary of the International Union of Economists. This milestone falls at a crucial time for the world as we embark on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, our global blueprint for ending poverty and establishing a life of dignity for all. To realize this bold and universal vision, we need the engagement of all partners, including economists. The IUE’s efforts to raise the profile of development issues, foster constructive dialogue on eradicating poverty and discrimination, and advance the goal of sustainable progress and prosperity are more important than ever. I call on you to build on the IUE’s proud record of expert assessments, recommendations and other contributions over the past quarter century as we strive to advance our common goals and usher in a better future for all.
