INTERNATIONAL UNION OF ECONOMISTS (IUE)

Dear friends and colleagues! Let me congratulate the attendees of the IUE’s Jubilee Meeting with the 25th anniversary of this authoritative nongovernmental organization! Over the quarter-century of its existence, the International Union of Economists has made serious progress in solving the challenging tasks that it set, above all, in the field of promoting economic reforms as a means for the global community development. The program implemented by the Union have enabled it to win the reputation of one of the world’s leading institutions in terms of rendering informational, analytical, consultative and organizational support to international cooperation in the field of socio-economic relations. The Union’s work on studying the role and place of entrepreneurs in society and economy is of particular interest for the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an organization promoting entrepreneurship in our country. The Union’s activities has always been in demand, but nowadays their importance is increasingly growing. How the global economy will develop in 21st century, which way the countries with transitional economy will choose, what we should expect in the social sphere that is shattered by the disproportions caused by migration – these are only some of the issues that the scientists, public and political leaders, as well as representatives of business circles will have to address. On this day, which is a landmark date for the International Union of Economists, let me express my confidence in the fact that the IUE’s activities will keep on serving the cause of strengthening international cooperation, promoting the ideas of progress and prosperity of mankind. I wish further success in creative activities, fruitful work and sound health to the attendees of the Jubilee Meeting and all those cooperating with IUE.
