Let me congratulate you with the 25th anniversary of the IUE.
The International Union of Economists (IUE) is an international public organization founded in 1991 by economic scientists and practitioners, bankers and entrepreneurs from different countries of the world.
Over the years of its existence, the International Union of Economists has won the reputation of an authoritative organization with a unique expert dialogue platform and activities that are aimed at promoting the global socio-economic progress. The annual meeting of IUE members devoted to the topical issues of global economic development comprises leading scientists, experts, representatives of state structures and business from different countries of the world, as well as members of national and international economic organizations, and is a milestone event for global economic community.
The 25th anniversary of the International Union of Economists is celebrated in hard times. The mankind is facing serious crisis phenomena. Today it is clear that many forecasts dealing with the gravity and duration of crisis have turned to be too optimistic. Thus, the issues that enjoy priority in the international agenda include sustainable economic development, problems of social inequality and poverty reduction, new forms of terrorism, regional conflicts and unprecedented scope of migration.
No doubt, it is time to look for and implement the optimal model of socio-economic development, capable of solving the existing problems efficiently and paving a path for long-term sustainable development and economic growth.
The role of international organizations becomes increasingly more important in such a context.
The activities of the International Union of Economists in the capacity of General Adviser at the UN Economic and Social Council aimed at studying, analyzing and working out the problems of socio-economic development that have proved efficient are in increasingly higher demand in the conditions of modern times.
UNESCO appreciates the active international activities of IUE that help expand and strengthen humanitarian ties, consolidate the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding on the global arena. We are ready for positive structural interaction with the International Union of Economists for the benefit of the world community.
