Toward economic and social progress through dialogue and cooperation
The International Union of Economists (IUE) was founded in 1991 to promote the global economic and social progress. Currently, professionals from 48 countries of the world – leading economists, experts, scientists and practitioners, government officials and public figures, representatives of the business community, national and regional unions and associations of economists – contribute to the IUE’s effort.
In 1999, the International Union of Economists was granted the General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), which was reaffirmed and extended in March 2021.
Currently, only 142 international non-governmental organizations in the world possess this high status. The International Union of Economists is also associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications.
The IUE is authorized to use the floor of the UN Economic and Social Council to speak at the UN General Assembly.
The International Union of Economists is headquartered in the Russian Federation at Tverskaya 22-A, Moscow.
